• Re: Abortion

WOW! Nice Post! Good to see someone using the internet to do actual RESEARCH. Well documented and very informative without pushing an agenda one way or another.

  • Re: Megan's Law... What do you think?

Hmmm, lets see, this is a great thread, Mike, thanks for starting it, now if we can just get more traffic here! My overall response to Megans law is that I really don't like it. It implies that a convicted sex offender can never rehabilitate. It also becomes a de facto life sentence for someone that may have made one dreadful ...

  • Re: Best Running-Mate Possibilities...?

WOW!!!!!!! I never even thought of that. Condi would make a pretty good running mate based on her Forign Affairs background, but how about countering the ''revolutionary'' Democratic ticket of a black man and white woman with a black woman! Ooooohhhh, that would stteal a little bit of their thunder, wouldn't it. LOL

  • Re: Best Running-Mate Possibilities...?

Whoever wins the Democratic nomination, they should pick the other as VP. I personally like the idea of Clinton/Obama, because Obama is young enough to then take 8 years after Clinton's 8. But the other way would work as well. McCain would obviously do well to choose Huckabee for the xtian conservatives who are skeptical of ...

  • Re: Roadside Memorials

My only other problem here now lies with the mess to be cleaned up after all of this. Perhaps its time to contact the State Legislature and get these RM's banned once and for all. Many other states have simalr bans in place and maybe PA should follow suit. So this sort of mess does not happen again.

Cinno, First of all, I will repeat my wish of sympathy to the family. I do understand that this was an impossible situation, and the publicity from WHP didn't help. You said, and so did many who shre your grief, '' this is not about right and wrong, its aabout grief and respecting each other. While I agree with that to an extent, I have ...

  • Re: Roadside Memorials by Kshkah

Wintercola, The reality of this is that you are correct. This would set a precedent in Swatara township that could have LONG reaching reprocussions. I said this in a post that was removed, but if the Labe's are allowed to build a permanant structure on private property against the property owners wishes, it then allows anyone to place ...

  • Re: Roadside Memorials by Kshkah

Kylie jo, First and foremost, I am puzzled as to how he does not have a grave site? Was he creamated, and the ashes kept in the home? Also, are you saying that because a family chooses not to bury a person in a cemetary that the municipal government is responsible for providing a site to memorialize him? Why would anyone ...

  • Re: Roadside Memorials by Kshkah

Wow, So Swatra Twp is now requiring a permit for the RM, interesting. I got a response from the zoning guy in the twp in which I live and that was his response. He told me that a small breakaway cross in a twp right of way would be removed after a time, but a structure like the one they put down would be condsidered a permanant one, and ...
