I'm a transplant to the area, so many someone can explain to me exactly what's going on, here.

York has a stench. When I'm out on the hill at night, walking my dog, there's this haunting aroma I can only describe as Diaper Pie.

It's this stench that causes me to pose the question: What is it?

Follow-Up Bonus Question: Is there some sort of mega-powerful air freshener or gigantic Stick-Up or SOMETHING we can do to fight it?

Seriously, what's up with that?

If the wind is blowing in the right direction, I wonder if you might be smelling Spring Grove, specifically, the P.H. Glatfelter paper plant?? I used to think it smelled like sauerkraut (sp?).  Many people who work at the plant refer to it as the "smell of money". Just a guess. ;)

Sounds reasonable to me. Now, let's get to working on that gigantic air freshener...
