    race doptions

I believe that your coverage on this issue was disenjenious!  It was not that long ago that a Coatsville couple (both white) could not keep a black foster child because black organizations were quoted saying, "white parents for a black child were not appriproate, they can not properly bring up an african/american child".  The PA court system agreed and the child was taken away from them?  Now, you issue, not exactly similar but close, said as per your broadcast, inferred that white childrens valve was greater than a black childs? You did not produce any satistics stating how many black children are in the system vs.white children?  Maybe supply and demand is the determining factor making white childrens value at $20k vs. a black child at $10k. Also, I hope that the white couple gets the black child (@10k).

First of all let me say, I am black, and I hope they get the child back too. I believe that a loving home, regardless of skin tone is not important. Secondly , I would like to mention that My wife adopted a boy of the same race. We were able to negotiate his adoption costs because he was considered harder to place with special needs. He was nearing his 4th birthday, and he would have been even harder to place. Who wants a 4 year old black child. Face it most people don't. But God touched our heart so, and my wife and I have been blessed. For the first part of your argument that the courts agreed with the black organizations. You neglected to mention the black organizations. Until you do so, your argument lacks proof. I agree with you on the S& P part, and society (white) does consider white children to be worth more. Thats why my son had to wait until he was three before he was adopted.
