Hi Jean Louis,

My name is Cathy Durborow and I am married to Bernard (Bo) Durborow who is the younger brother of Paul and John.  There were five brothers and two sisters all raised in Harrisburg.  The oldest brother Joseph, Paul, John and Mary are deceased.  There are three siblings alive, Edith (84), lives in Wisconsin, Bo (76) lives in Harrisburg and Bill (74) lives in Salt Lake City, Uath. 

Paul went to Harrisburg Catholic School like all the other children. Paul work for awhile before he went into the military.  He enlisted during WW11, John worked and then went into National Guard and then they were federalised and he was put into active duty.  Transfer to Air Force as a pilot.  There father died when Bo was only 8 years old.(1939)  There mother died in 1957??-she was 64 years old.  There mother Edith Durborow did get a chance to go over and visit the graves of the boys before she passed away.

I don't know what else to tell you but if you write to me I will answer any questions that you might have if I don't know I will try to find you an answer.

Very nice to meet you, i`m glad to find family again, just 2 weeks ago i received an email from a John Paul Durborow from Harrisburg.

I adopted the grave for my son Noel, he is thirteen years old and still on school.

He also wanted to adopt a grave like the rest of the family, for him and for my website i looking for more information about Paul.

I have some info about his army time and hope John Paul can help me with more, he told me that he got a lot of information on both brothers army time.

But for now i`m very pleased to found you both, i will go to the Cemetery soon en will take some pictures from there grave to send to you and the family.

I send John Paul an email with my email address so waiting for a reply.

Hi Jean Louise,

If you want any more information about his family or about him growing up my husband can help you I don't know much about their military time but we do have the picture that you have on your website.

It is very nice to meet you and we thank you for taking car of John and Paul's graves.

John Durborow is our nephew-he is my husband's oldest brothers son.  He was very interested in the boys and their military status.  He had a gentleman here that was somehow connected to the boys when they were in the service. He gave us information about the boys.

Though I know nothing about the young men whose graves you tend I want to thank you as the daughter and step-daughter of men who served and fortunately returned home from WW2.  It could have been my father in that cemetary.

I would glad to have information about his life before the war like school, parents and family.

This to make the story for my website about Paul and his crew, i`m restyling my website now because he`s not yet on it regarding there was no findings of any information about Paul, untill now of course.

I have a picture from his obituary article in the newspaper, i found it true a Library and they sended to me.

The people from CBS asked me for an interview about Paul`s findings en how i came to adopt his  grave and that from the others, so very exciting.

Hello Cathy, John and Durborow family,

Last week i put in a request for the adoption  for John`s grave, but it is already adopted by someone.

There are over 8300 graves on the Cemetery and there is a Foundation who does take care of the adoptions, in 2003 they started to clean up the old adoption list because they received many request for adoptions.

And the old list contains people who passed away or moved to other city`s, in a couple of months they are ready and all 8300 graves are adopted so thats good news.

With the information that i have about Paul, i have made a story and put it on my website www.soldiersoffreedom.nl  i hope John you take a look and tell me if its right, i got the picture true the Library from a obituary.

Hello Jean, My name is Nancy Durborow. Paul was my Uncle - my father Joe was his brother. Thank you for adopting his grave - how kind. My grandmother would have been very happy. My brother John Paul who was named for my dad's brothers is the family historian and is in contact with a man from England who wrote a book on WW II including info about my Uncles. My brother is also in touch with a man who is still alive who was shot down with one of them and then was a prisoner of war. Please feel free to contact my bother at jdurb@verizon.net. Paul was one of seven surviving children. One sister and 2 brothers are still alive. My dad passed away in 1991 - he and his brothers were close. My grandmother was able to go to Holland in the 1960's to visit their graves - I still have a wooden shoe she brought back. Thank you again for adopting his grave.
