Downtown York vandals

I moved into downtown York in July 2007. For reasons I can't understand, vandals have struck my car repeatedly, starting two weeks after I got here. So far, that's meant three trips to the body shop for major damage, and several minor incidents I didn't even bother to report. It stopped for several months, until this past Saturday night. Eggs, and such serious gouges in the paint and glass, that the whole car will have to be repainted. (I'm not even going to bother until I get out of here; the locals will just trash it again.) Interestingly, my car has always been singled out. I never see any damage to other vehicles. I don't understand the motive. I've done nothing to any of my neighbors. My only possible "offense" is that I'm over 30, and not in the drug trade. There are all sorts of thugs to be found wandering the streets, and by the railroad tracks, on almost any given night, yet I almost never see police patroling the area, despite being mere blocks from the police station. (One officer simply told me my problems were just because I was in "the wrong neighborhood". ) Mayor Brenner says York is safe, and there's much talk about revitalization in the area. I've learned the hard way that it's not true. I'm looking to find a new home outside city limits, and I never intend to come back.

I know its hard if your homeless, and i wouldnt mind helping but its just i dont have the money to donate. So if there was something else that could maybe be used the newspaper should mention that.

How safe are we in the City of York?

I have lived in the City of York for over 30 years and I have never seen crime so bad in the city. First it was the fires. Now it is the assults in the City of York. How many people have to get robbed and beat up before something is done. Mayor Brenner's idea is his stupid clean sweeps. All this does is make money for the city by illegally stealing peoples cars. He just loves to call the tow truck companies up to steal peoples cars. He loves to do this early in the morning. People wake up to find their vehicles missing and have to pay $125 to get them back. This really does not do anything to curb the crime. Last night two people were walking home from the York Fair and got robbed. The York Fair hires their own security force. But there were at least 30 cops there last night. Instead of waisting tax payer money at the fair they should be on the street catching the people that are doing the robbing. I think it is time to impeach the mayor and fire the police leader of York.

I'm a transplant to the area, so many someone can explain to me exactly what's going on, here.

York has a stench. When I'm out on the hill at night, walking my dog, there's this haunting aroma I can only describe as Diaper Pie.

It's this stench that causes me to pose the question: What is it?

Follow-Up Bonus Question: Is there some sort of mega-powerful air freshener or gigantic Stick-Up or SOMETHING we can do to fight it?
