HOW TO POST A COMMUNITY CALENDAR EVENT

If you'd like to post an event on our Community Calendar, you must first join the CBS 21 Community....To learn more about this, please click this link. Once you've joined you can return to this tutorial.

Click on the Calendar link in the menu at the top. From the Calendars box on the right hand side of the page, click the appropriate calendar (Community Events calendar or School Calendar) to view and post events.
Choose Submit Item from the Common Tasks box on the right hand side of the screen.
In the "Compose" tab, you'll see the Title box. Enter the title of your event here.
Next, you can choose the date of your event from the Event Date chooser. Simply click on the calendar icon to open a larger calendar from which you can choose a date.
Enter the event information in the Message section.
Now click the "Details" tab next to the "Compose" tab at the top of the form. There you can fill in all the appropriate information in the boxes.
If your event is a recurring or repeating event, click the Recurrence tab. Choose how often your event repeats (daily, weekly, etc.) and the date at which the event will end.
Click Post Item
Your event will be available to everyone after an administrator approves it. This could take up to 24 hours, but is usually much sooner.

Your event should show up on the date you selected. And you're done!

2007 PENNSYLVANIA YOUTH SURVEY RESULTS AVAILABLE

Study shows Data for Middle and High School Students in Lancaster County

Lancaster, PA. Since 1989, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania has conducted a survey of secondary school students on their behavior, attitudes and knowledge concerning alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs (ATOD) and violence. For the past six years, the survey that PA has used is the Pennsylvania Youth Survey (PAYS).

The survey was sponsored by the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD). The data gathered in the PAYS serve two primary needs. First, the survey results provide an important benchmark for alcohol, tobacco, and other drug (ATOD) use and delinquent behavior among young Pennsylvanians, and help indicate whether prevention and treatment programs are achieving their intended results. Second, the survey assesses risk factors that are related to these behaviors and the protective factors that guard against them. This information allows community leaders and school administrators to direct prevention resources to areas where they are likely to have the greatest impact. The Communities That Care Youth Survey (CTCYS) was adopted as the basis for the PAYS.

In 2005 and 2007, the Council on Drug & Alcohol Abuse conducted the PAYS for Lancaster County school students. In 2007, nearly 9,100 sixth, eighth, tenth and twelfth graders from 13 public school districts and two private/parochial schools participated, answering questions about their alcohol, tobacco and other drug (ATOD) use, depression, gambling, antisocial behaviors and feelings about their families and communities. The Council on Drug & Alcohol Abuse is scheduling presentations on the PAYS data for schools, faith-based organizations, communities and other agencies.

For more than 40 years, the Council on Drug & Alcohol Abuse has assumed a leadership role in all aspects of education, prevention, intervention and treatment of chemical dependency. The Council is supported by private donations, United Way funds, private and public grants, and fees for some services. It is the Council’s goal to work with Lancaster County to dramatically reduce substance abuse and to improve the lives of our youth.

I am a member of the Carlisle Area Seretoma Club and we are having a Basket Bingo on Sunday, August 10, 2008 at the New Kingstown Fire Company. Doors open at 11AM , Dinner starts at 12PM and Bingo starts at 1PM. The costs is $25.00 and dinner is included. I would like to get this put on your Friday Public Announcements. i just bought a car from a private seller for a thousand dollars. it was a 92 cadillac deville. what enticed me was that it had 93 K miles, when i test drove it, it was smooth and powerful but after it ended the car overheated and i knew that it was the thermostat, but thought oh it's minor and i could fix it no problem. so the next day i cashed him out got the title but he signed at the wrong spot and then the mechanic tells me that there is water in the engine and so it's totalled. i tried to explain it to the seller and he doesn't return my calls and the last conversation i had with him, he kept saying that's the problem with buying a used car " yah never know". Nor does he have any empathy for me that i saved three months for this car and now i still have to take the bus with my kids around. can someone help me please?

my sons`s girlfriend, who is 19, just bought a used car.

It was not bought as is.

She financed it at a 25% interest rate.

She only had it 2 days, when it showed problems, of not only transmission problems, ie,shifting, poor performance, the exhaust fell off, windshield was replaced incorrectly, showing signs that the vehicle was wrecked or vandalized and was not divulged by the used car dealership

Does this girl have any recourse, other than an attorney, which she cannot afford, to make this used car dealer make it right?

She paid over blue book value for this car.

She is absolutely heartbroken,because she cannot pay for the repairs on top of the payments.

any advice would be greatly appreciated, and highly valued.

I was wondering why you don't have it on here so that I can watch the live news on my computer, like from 5 to 6, instead of just the clips. Then I could watch it anywhere, like on the tv. I think it would be nice anyway. I saw that channel 16 has it like that. But I would rather watch it on 21. Just a thought anyway.©

Once you sign in and become a member of CBS 21 Community you can create a profile so everyone can learn more about you.

All you have to do is click on your username in the upper right hand corner of the screen. Then you just use the tabs and fill in the blanks!

You can:

add a custom signature to be used in the forums
make your own bio just like the CBS 21 anchors and reporters
share your interests

Don't forget to hit 'Save Changes' at the bottom of the page when you are done!
