He's coming across like Nixon when he does this. When the White House said FOX News wouldn't be allowed to attend a press pool interview with the "pay czar", the other networks said they would not attend if FOX was excluded. I applaud the networks for this.

"Soda is clearly one of the most harmful products in the food supply, and it's something government should discourage the consumption of," says Michael Jacobson, executive director of the Center for Public Interests.

We are now seeing "The *King* of PORK BARREL SPENDING" (Obama and his Congress) at it's best, and we will never see it like we have in the past six months and are about to see in the next four years. Google it and weep, because this administration hasn't even gotten started yet.

Mr. Jacobsen, you are grossly mistaken, ignoring the drink that most Americans pay approximately $200/month for a drink that contains ammonia, arsenic, fecal coliform, E Coli, barium, chloride, mercury, nitrite, phenolics, silver, cyanide and perchlorate (rocket fuel ) -http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2008/09/22/tech/main4470126.shtml

- our *drinking water* which your EPA refuses to acknowledge as detrimental to our health, and it's been that way long before the Bush administration. Consumers can check their local water quality report here: http://www.epa.gov/safewater/ccr/whereyoulive.html . Ever had your bloodwork tested for arsenic lately? Ask your Doctor. Then ask him why it's there - let me know if you get an answer that makes any sense. Then ask the EPA.

But it's big business and some other mysterious entity that's doing this to our water, and Mr. President doesn't mess with big business or mysterious entities - he is, after all, one of them (who's funding who? http://www.campaignmoney.com/ - for example, click the employers link and type in something like "Monsanto", or "DuPont" here: http://www.opensecrets.org/pres08/index.php). Then check the EPA's site for how many Superfund sites or corrective actions each has and their lack of compliance. Rather than putting so much mental energy into healthcare reform, how about some CHANGE and clean up the mess that is making us all sick? But if we got better, that would hurt the insurance and pharmaceutical companies (who invest millions in the tobacco industry who, by the way, contributed a boat load of money to the Obama campaign) - http://pnhp.org/tobacco/Insurance-Company-Tobacco-Investments.doc), and we can't have that now, can we? But we *do* know who owns whom.

Mr. Obama had the audacity to ask the American public if we've seen the price of arugula at Whole Foods lately.

1. Whole Foods is a racket with slim choosings of true Organic produce and meats. Nice of you to promote them, but who, Mr. Obama, can afford to shop at Whole Foods besides yourself (now)?

3. Mr. Obama, we shouldn't HAVE to shop at Whole Foods for produce and meats that won't kill us. Why don't you tackle the likes of Monsanto and Con Agra who have poisoned our food supplies and tainted our meats with hormones and antibiotics (Oestradiol, Progesterone, Testosterone, rgBH, Zeranol, Trenbolone, Melengestrol, Synercid, quinupristin-dalfopristin, tetracycline, flouroquine, Cipro, Baytril, and estrogens) that cause obesity, immune disorders, resistance to antibiotics, premature puberty, pre-pubertal gynecomastia (Google it), autism, breast cancer, prostate cancer, colon cancer, cognitive disorders, diabetes, hypothyroidism, uterine cancer, sudden infant death syndrome, brain disease, and poisoned our ground and waters they so zealously use in their pesticides that are absorbed into the fruits and vegetables we get at our neighborhood supermarket, instead of soda? How about tacklling the "Big Dogs" instead of staying on the porch playing Mama Obama hiding behind Hillary Clinton's skirts and worrying about McDonalds and Soda?

Wanna tax something? *Tax This*:

1. Tax plastic surgery – you know, the tummy tucks, facelifts, breast implants, liposuction, microdermabrasion….all things the rich can afford and is a cash only market. No insurance involved. Lots of money to be made from that, especially from Hollywood. Let them start paying some taxes for a change since we’ve been paying their way and padding their wallets for centuries. You think Oprah would let you do this? Ask her, would you?

2. Tax prime cuts of beef. Yup, beef, if you're so concerned about our health. Your filet mignons, your pricey beef that the middle class cannot afford - let it kill you and not us. You want to eat high on the hog? Tax 'em. Why are you playing with soda and McDonalds when you can go for the gold?

3. Why is our taxpayer money being used to deploy US Marshals to protect every abortion clinic in the United States? We understand there was a tragic murder, and this Dr. was well aware of the threats against him, yet did not think it was worth spending *his* money to protect the place? How is it that every other business and place of public access that is aware of a security risk provides *their own* security - but abortion clinics get US MARSHALS? Why pay for it when you can get it for free - right? There was a school Principal shot to death last week - have you deployed US Marshals to schools? There was an Iowa high school football coach gunned down at a school - have you deployed US Marshals in schools yet? Pull your Marshals out of abortion clinics and let the clinics pay for their own security - put *that* into your healthcare kitty. Again, you are simply protecting *your* interests and beliefs - not those of the people.

4. How about taxing Manicures and Pedicures? You think this is a joke? The area where I live has approximately 14 nail salons in a 5-mile radius, and their shops are booming. You said you're concerned about our health? Have you done your homework about the number of infections, diseases and nail fungii that these people get from these places? Tax 'em, Mr. Obama. It is a luxury, and it is one booming business in the US. Why worry about soda when your young American women that voted you into office will without a blink pay another dollar or two at these filthy places - tax 'em. Another all cash business and another luxury that you missed.

5. Instead of taking from the Medicare system and lowering the standards of service for the elderly who changed your diapers, fed you, clothed you, faught in numerous wars (that you did not) and worked their fingers to the bones from *nothing* without Government assistance - LEGALLY - to give you this “entitled” life and freedom you're trying to take away from us, tax BABIES. Yup, babies. Think of how much money they will cost the healthcare system in a lifetime, unlike a Senior Citizen who may only have 10-20 more years left in them. The more babies, the more tax on them. No exclusions for the poor. Maybe if you start taxing babies they’ll start having less of them. Set a number - two, three - after which walks in the Baby Tax. Wanna have a bunch of kids? Great, but you pay MORE taxes, not less. You've got it all backwards, Mr. Obama. Tax credits should go to those who chose some restraint and live within their means, not to those looking for a security blanket in the Federal Government.

6. Tax people who stay up after midnight. That’s not good for you, either. Less than 8 hours sleep can cause hypertension, cognitive disorders, depression, mania, heart disease, poor work performance, slow reaction time and a wide array of other disorders. Mama Obama can have the electric companies monitor who runs their lights after midnight and they get taxed extra, unlike those of us who don’t drink soda or smoke or have 20 babies – we go to bed on time – why should we have to pay for the health costs and pick up the slack for those that don’t? Yup – tax electricity that is in excess after midnight – will bring down health insurance costs and teach you yunguns how to take care of yourself like Mom always told you. And help with Global Warming, too.

7. Double tax all-you-can-eat buffets. Enough said.

8. Tax SUV drivers that do not know how to turn around and look behind them before backing out of parking spaces (double tax 'em if they're on their cell phones). And a $100 stimulus check to everyone who has been hit by one. In fact, tax gas guzzling SUVs, period.

9. Tax news reporters that are afraid to ask you a "challenging" question on live TV.

Lastly, tax those that don’t take their multivitamins daily. We do, so why should we have to pay the same taxes as those that don’t have time or sense to take care of themselves, their kids or eat right?

Remember that video that came out prior to the Primaries about Hillary Clinton standing in front of a stadium full of zombies vaguely resembling Communism? Well, that’s exactly what we’ve got on our hands now, my friends, except it’s her separated at birth twin.

And the majority voted for them. Would you like cheese with your whine?

Stimulus Bill

So, the Dems want to spend a trillion dollars to avoid a "catastrophe".
Reporting from Washington -- President Obama's Treasury secretary nominee, Timothy F. Geithner, apologized to senators Wednesday for failing to pay $34,000 in self-employment taxes while he was working at the International Monetary Fund.

"These were careless mistakes. They were avoidable mistakes, but they were unintentional," Geithner told the Senate Finance Committee. "I should have been more careful. I take full responsibility for them." Geithner paid the taxes after an Internal Revenue Service audit uncovered the omission.

http://www.bizzyblog.com/2009/01/13/treasury-nominees-persistent-tax-problems-getting-the-glossover-treatment-ap-coverage-forgets-at-least-chavez-baird/

***************************************************

Washington thinks this is ok. Had it been your or I we would probably be in prison for tax evasion or our houses leined.

And this is who our new President wants to run our Department of Treasury. We cannot be indifferent to this, and I personally find this offensive and a slap in the face of hard working tax paying citizens.

If you find this equally offensive, please write or email your local Congressman - https://writerep.house.gov/writerep/welcome.shtml

And for good measure, the Whitehouse: http://www.whitehouse.gov/contact/

I have written the below. Please feel to copy and paste it to your local Congressman.

With regard to nominating Timothy Geither as Treasury Secretary - I find this offensive and a slap in the face to all hard working tax paying Americans. This man cannot honestly control his personal finances, yet the President is putting him in charge of the entire Coutry's finances? This cannot happen - not with our money. I object to the nomination and find it incredible that it has even occurred. You say you represent the people - the people do not want someone who evades his own personal taxes dumped on them. Kindly rethink this decision and understand we are insisting this nomination not proceed. Clean your own house before you decide to clean the country's, Mr. Geither (with legal immigrants). 30 Grand is not an honest mistake - you got caught, you got away with it, and you are being rewarded for it. What is being proposed is a disgrace.

Abortion

On this 35th anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision, I would like to share my views on the issue of abortion.

Life begins at the point of conception. No one can deny that after a human being is conceived it will develop into the very same being as those debating this issue. What astounds me is that those who favor abortion went through an identical development stage as the being they are condemning to death. Would these very same people agree that a similiar choice should have been made about their own existence? Abortion today is used primarily as a birth control of convenience because people are too self-centered to take precautions. They prefer their own pleasurable self-indulgence over the care and sanctity of the life they created. What ever happened to taking responsibility for one's actions in this country? Is it too much to ask a woman who has conceived to place the child into adoption? Nine months of discomfort is nothing compared to life in prison for voluntary manslaughter! Does the father of the child have a say in this? And what about the constitution of the United States? Are not all people conceived in this country deserving of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness? I believe abortion is a crime against humanity and should be outlawed. We need to overturn the Roe v. Wade decision and get back to cherishing life in this country. For a country that murders it's children cannot be far from self destruction.

BARACK OBAMA--I AM FOR YOU!!

:) Hello dear folks,

I think Barack knows what needs to be done and how to handle it, so what that he hasn't been in umpteen wars or done this or that; I am quite impressed with him and joined his campaign.

Many people will think I have lost my head, but you see though disabled in that I need to walk with a cane or use a Mobile Wheelchair unless I can get a ride as I don't have a vehicle, I have far from lost my head and the United States of America says we have freedom of choice, well I am making a choice.

Oh by the way, as for the stupid advertisements on TV, yes Barack can and will lead. Give him a chance. He has shown me and others that he is for the people, especially those that are ailing and perhaps cannot afford to be major contributors to his campaign. He understands this and backs us, please back him.

Thank you all,

Joan

Js8266@aol.com

McCain is a disaster. He is not knowledgeable about technology (which has been America's strength for many years) and doesn't understand energy. Palin THINKS she understands energy, but she knows nothing about Concentrator Photovoltaics, Geothermal, Fuel Cells, solar thermal, amorphous silicon (thin film photovoltaics), etc. She only knows how the old world got its energy - through petroleum. What she also either doesn't know or doesn't mention is that when you drill in the ocean below a sea depth of 500 feet, you disturb stores of frozen methane gas. If this gas is disturbed and rises to the surface, it can have catastrophic effects from a global warming perspective, substantially more than CO2. She knows nothing and it's embarrassing that my old party even put her on the ticket. I wanted to pass this response on to the mass media. Maybe Katie Curic can ask "the deer in the headlights" these questions..if she negotiates foreign affairs, with Puten flying over Alaska, surely she should be able to answer these simple questions. Palin says, "the media keeps asking her dumb media questions" maybe these questions won't be so dumb !.

I think McCain will dump the heiress, since he no longer needs her money and will marry the "VP nominee" what do you think folks??? It includes the cities of Rosenberg and La Marque as well as portions of Missouri City and Pearland, in Fort Bend, Harris, Galveston, and Brazoria counties. In the district, 52 percent of poll respondents identified themselves as Republicans, 32 percent as Democrats and 16 percent as independent. The incumbent representative of the district is the Democrat Nick Lampson. The United States has two major political parties. The Democratic Party is one of the two major political parties in the United States, the other being the Republican Party. Republican Party is the oldest political party in the United States and arguably the oldest party in the world.
The Democratic Party traces its origins to the Democratic-Republican Party, founded by Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, and other influential opponents of the Federalists in 1792. Since the division of the Republican Party in the election of 1912, it has consistently positioned itself to the left of the Republican Party in economic as well as social matters. The economically left-leaning activist philosophy of Franklin D. Roosevelt, which has strongly influenced American liberalism, has shaped much of the party’s economic agenda since 1932.
The Republican Party is one of the two major contemporary political parties in the United States of America, along with the Democratic Party. It is often referred to as the Grand Old Party or the GOP
The current U.S. President, George W. Bush, is the 18th Republican to hold office. Republicans currently fill a minority of seats in both the United States Senate and the House of Representatives, hold a minority of state governorships, and control a minority of state legislatures. It is currently the second largest party with 55 million registered members, encompassing roughly one third of the electorate.
You gotta see this about Obama!

I just watched a replay of Michelle Obama's rally in Villanova that aired on C-SPAN's Road to the White House. Anybody who is undecided about who to vote for tomorrow has GOT to see this. You will be 100% convinced that Obama should be our next President.

First, no legal inference can or should be drawn from Ms. Goodling claiming privilege under the First Amendment, but the reality is that eyebrows will be raised, especially when it's a DOJ attorney. She is advised by respected counsel from Akin Gump, but some have questioned whether you can take the Fifth merely out of fear that you might commit perjury in a highly politicized case. I have heard of no other recent instance of a DOJ attorney refusing to testify on that basis.

As an attorney and political junkie reading between the lines, my view is that when she advised Deputy AG Paul McNulty for his testimony before Congress, she deliberately or negligently omitted some important facts, causing his testimony to be misleading about Gonzo's role in the USA [U.S. Attorney] firings. It didn't help that the General himself said at a press conference that he had "no" involvement, when emails and appointment records showed he was in the loop.

Gonzo is AG because he is a Bush buddy, not for any particular legal acumen, just as Goodling is there for her political loyalty. She is a very green attorney, having no trial experience other than six months of trying misdemeanors before U.S. Magistrate Judges during her rotation through DOJ assignments. She graduated from Regent University's law school, certainly not a top-tier school, and a Christian institution in Virginia founded by Jerry Falwell.

USAs are at-will political appointments and may be fired for no reason or for almost any reason related to performance, like insubordination or failing to follow DOJ policy. But they may not be fired for pursuing prosecutions of public integrity crimes, as was the case in the Southern District of California where USA Carol Lam convicted Duke Cunningham and was aiming at other political targets.

Gonzo is toast but should be fun to watch if and when he testifies. See www.politico.com for really top-notch Inside-the-Beltway political commentary.

Presidential Poll: Who would you vote for?

A recent Quinnipiac poll shows if the presidential election were held today, Pennsylvanians would support Hillary Rodham Clinton and Rudy Giuliani.

Thompson announced her endorsements of Gloria Martin-Roberts and Susan Brown-Wilson for another 4 years as Harrisburg City Council Members. Gloria and Susan have served on City Council since January 2004. Gloria chairs the Park & Recreation Committee, serves on the Administration Committee, as well as the Public Works Committee. Susan is Vice President of City Council and serves on the Parks & Recreation Committee, Public Works Committee, and the Administration Committee.

In endorsing Susan and Gloria, Council Woman Linda Thompson spared no words for the lack of services Mayor Reed supplied the people of Harrisburg. From snow removal to the management disaster called the Incinerator Retrofit, Linda has complained about the incompetent management of the Mayor’s Administration. Over the many years of his reign as the Mayor of Harrisburg, the Mayor has always blamed the very people who he supported for City Council.

“If you saw a man marry a woman and get divorced once every two years, would you look at the women at fault or would you think that it is the man?”, Council Woman Thompson asked. Every City Council Election Year, the Mayor endorses a City Council Reed Team, just to dump them at the end of their term, blaming them for his Administration’s failures. Linda says that the people deserve better government and she is working to put in place that government.

Today, a former college teammate of Allen's who is now a radiologist said that Allen used to refer to blacks as [N-words]. Allen said he doesn't know what "macaca" means, that he just made it up, and that he doesn't recall ever using the other word. I think he is lying through his teeth, but the issue is very much alive in this Senate race critical to Democrats for regaining some control of Congress. Does anyone know anyone with any credibility who knows any real facts about Allen? The Dems would love to hear from them.

Stem Cell Veto

Do you agree with President Bush's decision to veto the Senate-approved bill to allow increased stem cell research?

The "President"

It wasn't long ago that, out in these parts, that guy who calls the White House "home" was thought to be not only a competent and decisive leader...but a conquering war hero as well. You still can't drive somewhere without seeing at least one "W" sticker on the back bumper of some environmentally-insensitive person's gas guzzler.

There have been ups and downs since November 2000, but now, under 40% of Americans in most any poll you see say they're unsatisfied with the job this guy's doing and increasingly uncomfortable with the administration's policies.

I realize I'm not painting a rosy picture of Glorious Leader, here, but I was never a big fan.

It's beyond me being a "filthy liberal," a term I detest.

I'm an American. All Americans are free to think and live in their own, unique ways.

This President, in my opinion, has attempted to control and even destroy many freedoms based on the religous and economic interests of his cronies. Far from leading by conviction, he's openly marching America backward and shunning progress and individuality for her citizens.

A lot of people agree with my position that Bush isn't so hot. Does anyone still DISAGREE with me strongly?

What do you think of the leadership of this country under President Bush, and how has your opinion of the man changed over the years, if at all? If you voted for him, would you do it again if he could run in 2008?

I know those FOX News guys will tell you it's not okay to change your mind or even form your own opinion on something, but it's okay...I won't tell.
