can i get help with this please?

i just bought a car from a private seller for a thousand dollars. it was a 92 cadillac deville. what enticed me was that it had 93 K miles, when i test drove it, it was smooth and powerful but after it ended the car overheated and i knew that it was the thermostat, but thought oh it's minor and i could fix it no problem. so the next day i cashed him out got the title but he signed at the  wrong spot and then the mechanic tells me that there is water in the engine and  so it's totalled. i tried to explain it to the seller and he doesn't return my calls and the last conversation i had with him, he kept saying that's the problem with buying a used car " yah never know". Nor does he have any empathy for me that i saved three months for this car and now i still have to take the bus with my kids around. can someone help me please?

I'm not sure, but I do believe that may be protected under PA's 'lemon law'.   You may be able to find info on it online.  If worse comes to worse, depending on how much you paid for the car, you could also take the person to small claims court, and sue him for your money back.  Keep records of all transactions.   Also, in the future, take any used vehicle to a certified mechanic to have it inspected or checked before buying.   Good luck!
