    Phillies

    Thanks to Mr manuel and his stupid decisions on changing pitchers they lost. I certainly hope he is not there next year, as i said he made very dumb decisions in changing picthers when there was no reason to. he should be fired, also all the players were too nervous to even get a hit, the whole team sucked! they did not deserve to win , and mr manuuel made dumd decisions all year not just in the playoffs, why he was ever hired i will never know! If the owner would stop being so stingy and get some picthers the phillies will have a whole lot better chance to win. I will also like to say that why they keep mr burrell is a mystery. Please get rid of manuel to start though and the team will certainly be better. He is worthless! But i suppose they don't really care anyway, because they still get their millions! bye now, mr star.;

    I agree that the Phillies looked pretty horrible, being swept by the Rockies. With the exception of Jimmy Rollins, the team simply did not look ready to play. A year ago, I would have totally agreed with you about Charlie Manuel... Why was he brought here? Because Jim Thome wanted him in Philly when he was here. But now, where's Jim Thome?... Stealing a paycheck by DH'ing in the American League. But while Charlie may not have seemed like the best choice at the time, the players have nothing but good things to say about him. And now, this playoff appearance probably earned Charlie another season in Philly... And enough about Pat Burrell, already. Pat is a true Phillie.

    Being only 27, I have been a life long phillies fan because when I was a little boy my uncle (god rest his soul) and I would stay up late and watch them until I fell asleep. I wouldn't trade anything for those days. Now maybe with a little offseason maneuvering here and there and maybe we can be in the post season again next year. Fav. Phillie of all time, John Kruk.

    Re: Phillies

    My uncle also made me a Phillie fan... used to take me and my cousin, who's the same age as me, to one game a year at the Vet... Kruk is a great pick. Its funny, we were just talking about this in the newsroom the other day. Of course, I used to idolize Mike Schmidt... But besides Schmidt, I was a huge Von Hayes fan. I have sheets of Von Hayes cards, including about five of them when he was a rookie with the Indians, and appeared on the card with two other players. I don't know what it was about Hayes, but as a kid, I thought he was the coolest Phillie. Now, he's up for the Lanacaster Barnstormers' managerial job. I hope he gets it.

    Re: Phillies

    That would be just a little too easy!... But, I've got to give any Boston fan credit, in every sport this year... Patriots, Celtics... man, it must be great to be on top.

    I will say one thing... If the Patriots face the Cowboys on the Super Bowl, you can bet I'll be rooting for the Pats... even if they ripped this Eagles fan's heart out and stomped on it two years ago, I could never root for the 'Boys.

    Re: Phillies

    I hear ya about the Cowboys.  Is it just me, or does it seem like all the Cowboys' fans came out of the wood works?  Seems like everyone likes to jump on band wagons.  The same happened after the Sox won the World Series in 2004.  Before then, I could walk into any store and pick up any Sox item I wanted.  Now, everywhere I go I see people wearing Sox gear.  Yet these are the same people who know nothing about the team.  Go figure!
