Ravens are a home town team for South Central PA

First, I understand that since Harrisburg is in PA, CBS21 must support the NFL teams in PA (Eagles and Steelers).

I must point out that York and Adams counties are actually closer to Baltimore, and there is a large Ravens fan base in these areas. Even Lancaster has a Ravens fan base. The news team tonight only covered the weather for the Steelers and Eagles games, and not the Ravens. The Ravens are a local team to South Central PA. CBS21 should be able to cover all three of the NFL teams (Ravens, Eagles, and even the Steelers).

Pittsburg is about 5 hours away, when Baltimore is only 1 hour away from my home.

I moved into downtown York in July 2007. For reasons I can't understand, vandals have struck my car repeatedly, starting two weeks after I got here. So far, that's meant three trips to the body shop for major damage, and several minor incidents I didn't even bother to report. It stopped for several months, until this past Saturday night. Eggs, and such serious gouges in the paint and glass, that the whole car will have to be repainted. (I'm not even going to bother until I get out of here; the locals will just trash it again.) Interestingly, my car has always been singled out. I never see any damage to other vehicles. I don't understand the motive. I've done nothing to any of my neighbors. My only possible "offense" is that I'm over 30, and not in the drug trade. There are all sorts of thugs to be found wandering the streets, and by the railroad tracks, on almost any given night, yet I almost never see police patroling the area, despite being mere blocks from the police station. (One officer simply told me my problems were just because I was in "the wrong neighborhood". ) Mayor Brenner says York is safe, and there's much talk about revitalization in the area. I've learned the hard way that it's not true. I'm looking to find a new home outside city limits, and I never intend to come back.

You know like NAFTA and why the jobs are gone. I thought theprive of gas was too high here in York. Icalled my boys in Vegas and compaired it to where my new job is in Northern Jersey. Know what? Our gas prices are 20 cents a gallon higher then before. We used to be 10 cents a gallon less than Vegas, and in line with Northern Jersey and 20 cents higher than where I have family in NE Ohio. Northern NH 2.53, Vegas 2.65, Ohio now 2.53 with new .10cent tax. York PA: 2.73 to 2.75. Seems Rendel and the legislature slipped in new taxes and didn't tell anyone. They are great at telling you the good things but not the legisature nor the media have the guts to report this.

Obama's attacks on FOX News diminish him, and elevate the ratings of FOX News. He's coming across like Nixon when he does this. When the White House said FOX News wouldn't be allowed to attend a press pool interview with the "pay czar", the other networks said they would not attend if FOX was excluded. I applaud the networks for this.

What the FDA has released to date regarding the poisoning of thousands of pets wreaks of ignorance, indifference, arrogance and borders on criminal. Melamine has been used for decades in dinnerware and is known to leach into foods - if it is in fact "toxic", why are we still eating from it? Unless, of course, they'd been bought back then as they are today with Dupont's Teflon, an EPA declared carcinogen that we cook from that will also kill birds subject to those fumes that breaks down over time that is aggressively marketed and used today and exists in ALL our systems and blood, whether we have used it or not. But they are a major political contributor so rules for them are different, as we all know.

Commerce once again takes precedence over our well being, and the well being of those tender pets we call our friends and many call their babies. Our Government shows blatantly that they have no conscience when there is yet another buck to be made.

Do we truly believe if they've learned that dry pet foods, as well as human foods have been contaminated, that they would tell us at this stage of the game? This is our FDA that will not even permit labels to indicate a product is wheat or gluten free. They are still reporting only 16 deaths, with NO centralized method in place to track these deaths, and still have yet to publicize ALL the symptoms of renal kidney failure in cats and dogs because they do not WANT to know, and do not want US to know.

Those who knew of the poisoned animals and did or said nothing need to be 1) immediately removed from their positions, 2) bought up on criminal charges, if applicable and 3) fed whatever foods were included in the recall only until the supplies are exhausted. IF they are still standing, once we determine the cause, anyone with decreased appetite or thirst may get taken to the Vet for bloodwork but by then it would most likely be too late, however we may get urine samples or organ samples post-mortem if they were not cremated. Then come back in their 2nd life as a puppy.

Ah, we see B.O. is thinking of taxing fast-food restaurants (probably the only restaurants most of us can afford any more) and soda since they're bad for us, to fund his healthcare reform bill.

3. Mr. Obama, we shouldn't HAVE to shop at Whole Foods for produce and meats that won't kill us. Why don't you tackle the likes of Monsanto and Con Agra who have poisoned our food supplies and tainted our meats with hormones and antibiotics (Oestradiol, Progesterone, Testosterone, rgBH, Zeranol, Trenbolone, Melengestrol, Synercid, quinupristin-dalfopristin, tetracycline, flouroquine, Cipro, Baytril, and estrogens) that cause obesity, immune disorders, resistance to antibiotics, premature puberty, pre-pubertal gynecomastia (Google it), autism, breast cancer, prostate cancer, colon cancer, cognitive disorders, diabetes, hypothyroidism, uterine cancer, sudden infant death syndrome, brain disease, and poisoned our ground and waters they so zealously use in their pesticides that are absorbed into the fruits and vegetables we get at our neighborhood supermarket, instead of soda? How about tacklling the "Big Dogs" instead of staying on the porch playing Mama Obama hiding behind Hillary Clinton's skirts and worrying about McDonalds and Soda?

Wanna tax something? *Tax This*:

1. Tax plastic surgery – you know, the tummy tucks, facelifts, breast implants, liposuction, microdermabrasion….all things the rich can afford and is a cash only market. No insurance involved. Lots of money to be made from that, especially from Hollywood. Let them start paying some taxes for a change since we’ve been paying their way and padding their wallets for centuries. You think Oprah would let you do this? Ask her, would you?

2. Tax prime cuts of beef. Yup, beef, if you're so concerned about our health. Your filet mignons, your pricey beef that the middle class cannot afford - let it kill you and not us. You want to eat high on the hog? Tax 'em. Why are you playing with soda and McDonalds when you can go for the gold?

3. Why is our taxpayer money being used to deploy US Marshals to protect every abortion clinic in the United States? We understand there was a tragic murder, and this Dr. was well aware of the threats against him, yet did not think it was worth spending *his* money to protect the place? How is it that every other business and place of public access that is aware of a security risk provides *their own* security - but abortion clinics get US MARSHALS? Why pay for it when you can get it for free - right? There was a school Principal shot to death last week - have you deployed US Marshals to schools? There was an Iowa high school football coach gunned down at a school - have you deployed US Marshals in schools yet? Pull your Marshals out of abortion clinics and let the clinics pay for their own security - put *that* into your healthcare kitty. Again, you are simply protecting *your* interests and beliefs - not those of the people.

4. How about taxing Manicures and Pedicures? You think this is a joke? The area where I live has approximately 14 nail salons in a 5-mile radius, and their shops are booming. You said you're concerned about our health? Have you done your homework about the number of infections, diseases and nail fungii that these people get from these places? Tax 'em, Mr. Obama. It is a luxury, and it is one booming business in the US. Why worry about soda when your young American women that voted you into office will without a blink pay another dollar or two at these filthy places - tax 'em. Another all cash business and another luxury that you missed.

5. Instead of taking from the Medicare system and lowering the standards of service for the elderly who changed your diapers, fed you, clothed you, faught in numerous wars (that you did not) and worked their fingers to the bones from *nothing* without Government assistance - LEGALLY - to give you this “entitled” life and freedom you're trying to take away from us, tax BABIES. Yup, babies. Think of how much money they will cost the healthcare system in a lifetime, unlike a Senior Citizen who may only have 10-20 more years left in them. The more babies, the more tax on them. No exclusions for the poor. Maybe if you start taxing babies they’ll start having less of them. Set a number - two, three - after which walks in the Baby Tax. Wanna have a bunch of kids? Great, but you pay MORE taxes, not less. You've got it all backwards, Mr. Obama. Tax credits should go to those who chose some restraint and live within their means, not to those looking for a security blanket in the Federal Government.

6. Tax people who stay up after midnight. That’s not good for you, either. Less than 8 hours sleep can cause hypertension, cognitive disorders, depression, mania, heart disease, poor work performance, slow reaction time and a wide array of other disorders. Mama Obama can have the electric companies monitor who runs their lights after midnight and they get taxed extra, unlike those of us who don’t drink soda or smoke or have 20 babies – we go to bed on time – why should we have to pay for the health costs and pick up the slack for those that don’t? Yup – tax electricity that is in excess after midnight – will bring down health insurance costs and teach you yunguns how to take care of yourself like Mom always told you. And help with Global Warming, too.

7. Double tax all-you-can-eat buffets. Enough said.

8. Tax SUV drivers that do not know how to turn around and look behind them before backing out of parking spaces (double tax 'em if they're on their cell phones). And a $100 stimulus check to everyone who has been hit by one. In fact, tax gas guzzling SUVs, period.

9. Tax news reporters that are afraid to ask you a "challenging" question on live TV.

Lastly, tax those that don’t take their multivitamins daily. We do, so why should we have to pay the same taxes as those that don’t have time or sense to take care of themselves, their kids or eat right?

Remember that video that came out prior to the Primaries about Hillary Clinton standing in front of a stadium full of zombies vaguely resembling Communism? Well, that’s exactly what we’ve got on our hands now, my friends, except it’s her separated at birth twin.

And the majority voted for them. Would you like cheese with your whine?

No disrespect to Mrs Tome... I don't know how Channel 21 can call Dody Tome's story today "breaking her silence." When I know for a fact that she's talked to channel 27 on several occasions. I was at the Kops for Cops game in December of 2008 and watched the reports from several of the channel 27 reporters. In order to gain the public trust, you should be trustworthy with your reporting.

I was rather disappointed with 21 this afternoon when I saw the Ravens on instead of the Eagles... Why can't the WHP management work with the NFL to restate our Market designation? There is a higher percentage of Eagles and Steelers fans in the WHP market than Ravens fans. Why can't you work to satisfy your audience? Can't you broadcast the Ravens games on channel 15 and Eagles/Steelers games on channel 21?

I'm sure 15 isn't showing any valuable programming on Sunday afternoons.

i watched with great intereset your story about this company and cant believe a company in this country , making aircraft parts? could actually get away with screwing their employees this way. will they actually be made "whole"? their bills? their families? what about that all important credit rating?, we should all pay attention, this sort of practice is nothing new to working americans, my hat is off to this channel and especilly the employees who with what had to be considerable courage, are blowing the whistle on simply bad business and mistreatment of employees, i stand with you. Animal Owners Devoid of Constitutional Rights?

What this all amounts to is a clear problem in America.
Dog owner's are being criminalized, violated and ignored on a daily basis. Meanwhile, "Humane organizations" are overstepping their bounds (legally speaking) and supplying bogus information to law enforcements agencies in exchange for media coverage which results in donations. Directly resulting from these acts of pure greed are the deaths of innocent animals, the ruined lives of innocent dog lovers and the wasted taxpayer money which is used to arrest these people, harass these people and then lose in court to these people.

Recently I have begun to wonder if the United States has somehow amended the Constitution to exempt animal owners from certain "rights" which other citizens enjoy. For example, the the 5th Amendment which says "no person shall be deprived of Life, Liberty, or Property, without due process of law." However, every day laws are being passed which allow cities to take dogs (aka property) from their owners without the due process of a trial. The alarming rate with which this questionable practice is spreading has lead me to this idea. . .

Perhaps the United States of America no longer views animal owners as having equal rights afforded under the Constitution.

I can't believe that the police have nothing better to do than take a man's dog away. He may not have known how to take care of him in the best way, but he loves him and could be taught. Give me a break! There are so many animals out there who no one wants, they are abused, etc. and you are going to take a dog from a man who just needs to understand that loving the dog also means knowing how to care for it. I truly pray for our country if this is the mentality of the bureaucracy.

I think the 73 year old man should get his dog back. There was no reason the cop should of taken the dog without talking to him. If the windows were down there should of been no problem. I just saw 2 dogs in the back of a truck in 90 degree weather and they were fine just waiting for their owner to come out.

I believe that this is tragic, that this man has taken care of his animal all these years and then some cop has nothing else to do but take this mans dog, ie. catch speeders, robbers, etc. They need to give him his dog back now.

I'm glad there are so many people worried about Mr. Thomas. I'm sure with all the posts, the local churches, Bethesda Mission, and other organizations won't have problems this year getting donations and contributions to help the homeless.

Where were you when they closed the Hbg. State Hospital and other institutions, helping the mentally ill? Where did you think people like Mr. Thomas was going to go? He's seems to be functional, after all he was in a restaurant eating, when his dog was removed from the car.

Let's see you put your time and money where your posts are, or don't you really care about the homeless?

You probably won't see Mr. Thomas' attorney fighting for the homeless, unless there are press opportunities.

I guess I'm jaded, and don't expect to see the donations increasing, just the posts. By the way, I do volunteer.

The homeless population rely on their pets for nonjudgmental, loyal companionship. These pets are sometimes their primary support system and the only motivation to keep them going.

The number of companion animals living on the streets is surprisingly high. It is a fact of which Santa Barbara veterinarian David Dawson is keenly aware. In Santa Barbara County, CA., alone there are roughly 6,000 homeless people, with approximately one in 10 owning a pet. "With these economic times, we will not see the end of pet homelessness," said Dawson. "We need to give back and make a change to keep the pets and public healthy."

And that is exactly what he is doing. Last March, Dawson, along with his staff at San Roque Pet Hospital, held a free clinic for the homeless of Santa Barbara’s pets.

It is estimated by the National Coalition for the Homeless that between 5% to 10% of homeless people have dogs and/or cats. In some areas of the country the rate is as high as 24%. Most people who experience homelessness are homeless for a short period of time, and usually need help finding housing or a rent subsidy. But unfortunately for those with pets it becomes more difficult. Many are forced to choose between their pet or a roof over their head.

Surprisingly, most choose to stay on the streets with their pets for longer periods of time. Their pets are nonjudgmental, providing comfort, an emotional bond of loyalty. In some cases they provide the homeless with protection and keep them warm.

This man probably provided loving care to a wife with alzheimers, only to become homeless. why would anyone think that he wouldn't provide the same loving care to his dog. Give the dog back and also give him back is dignity by assisting him to become independant again.

This is so sad, not only for the dog, but what this man has been through and now living in his car. He has lost everything, family, home and now his best friend, his dog. Please give him the dog back, he believes the dog was safe in the car, don't rub salt in his wounds, by keeping this dog from him. Work something out that the dog can be returned.

Embryonic Stem Cell Research is unethical and medically unneccessary according to current research.
- It is unethical to encourage and use the stem cells from aborted human beings for scientific human research purposes. I am totally against my tax dollars funding a practice which is against my moral and ethical values.
