The Peace Tree
Peace Tree - November 20, 2009
Each fall the Association of Faculty and Friends (AFF) of Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and Penn State College of Medicine sponsors a special project, The Peace Tree. It was established in 1988 to provide a special way to say, "I'm thinking of you." Over the years, it has become a symbol of joy and giving - a custom to honor and celebrate the life of a loved one or friend with a light on The Peace Tree. Each person so honored receives an announcement by mail that a light has been sponsored in his or her name. The Peace Tree is lit through the new year.
On November 20, 2009 at 5:30 PM, we will gather together with members of our organization, medical and graduate faculty, staff, students, patients and their family members, and guests from the community, for a special program acknowledging the sponsored names and showcasing local talent. Tax deductible contributions to The Peace Tree are returned as gifts to the Medical Center supporting and promoting medical education, research, clinical care, and scholarship by The Association of Faculty and Friends.
To remember or honor a special loved one, forms can be downloaded from our website.
