The MOMS Club is a support group just for
you, the mother-at-home of today, interested in the world around you, wanting a
variety of activities for you and your children, and proud of your choice of
at-home mothering for your family!
Internationally, the MOMS Club has over
2,000+ chapters in seven countries, and we represent more than 100,000
members! We are the only international
support group specifically for all at-home mothers, and we’d like you to be a
member, too!
The MOMS Club is:
v The only international
support group just for you – today’s at-home mother!
v A group that
understands your choice of at-home mothering!
v A wonderful way for
you to meet other at-home moms and a fun way for your child to meet other
at-home children!
The MOMS Club does:
v Monthly business
meetings with guest speakers, discussions and other fun programs! Children always welcome!
Second Thursday of each month at 10 AM.
Christ Lutheran Church –Parrish house, 38 West High Street, New Bloomfield, PA.
v Casual get-togethers
in parks and members’ homes!
v Outings for mothers
and their children!
v Family parties around
the holidays or just for fun throughout the year!
v Playgroups for infants, toddlers, preschoolers
and school-age children!
v Babysitting Coops!
v Activity groups for the mothers, like arts ‘n
crafts, exercise, monthly MOMS Night Out, bowling, cooking or other special
interests!
v Service projects that
help needy children in our community.
Meetings:
All of our meetings
and all but one of our activities are during the day, when at-home mothers need
the support. During the school year, we
meet twice a month, once for an indoor business meeting (usually with a
speaker, topic for discussion or other activity) and once just for fun for a
park playday (weather permitting).
In addition to meetings, we also have
outings or other get-togethers, such as trips to the zoo and family or
children’s parties.
Activity Groups:
The MOMS Club sponsors Activity Groups
for members with common interests. These
change as interests change, but include activities such as children’s
playgroups, gourmet lunch groups, arts ‘n crafts, coupon exchanges, a monthly
MOMS Night Out and babysitting coops, among others.
Bring your children!
We believe being a
mother shouldn’t isolate you, so you may bring your children with you to
anything we do. You don’t have to bring
children to attend, but if you do, please remember, you are responsible for
your child’s safety and behavior.
Sometimes we may have a volunteer member watching the older children
away from the mothers, but sometimes we may all be together, so you may be
asked to bring some toys to share.
Babies are always welcome to stay with their mothers, and you may nurse
at our meetings. We’re all mothers here
and many of us have nursed our own children.
If your baby becomes fussy, please be considerate of any guest speakers
and move away from the group until your child has quieted.
Dues:
Our dues are $20 a
year and pay for our room rentals, supplies and programs. You may attend two meetings (such as a
meeting and a park day – activity groups are for members only!) before you decide to become a member. We understand that being a mother-at-home
often means a tight family budget, so if the dues would be a hardship for your
family, please talk to one of our officers.
Welcome Newcomers!
Come visit our next
meeting! Our chapter is very open to new
members. You probably won’t be the only new
person there! Although some of us have
lived here for years and are experienced mothers, many of us are new in town or
new to motherhood! We all have one thing
in common – the MOMS Club introduced us to other moms who stay home…the ones
who soon became our friends.
