The Harrisburg Salsa & Rueda Casino Meetup is bringing back an absolutely wonderful dance instructor from Reading, PA, on Thursday, July 9, 2009, Wanda Holdren Vega! Our last workshop with Wanda was a hit and this one is sure to be also!
Wanda Holdren Vega, is the Artistic Director, Founder and Choreographer of Latin Flair, Inc. Her unquenchable thirst for dance has touched the lives of students everywhere. Wanda has traveled all over the world teaching and competing in Latin Dance while developing a strong national and international reputation as one of the most talented and passionate teachers and performers. Wanda has been featured as an instructor and dancer at national events as well as the Puerto Rico Salsa Congress, International Dance Challenge, National Dance Showcase, Olympus Dance Challenge and a finalist in several dance competitions. Wanda will teach a 45min beginner salsa class beginning promptly at 7:15 and a one hour intermediate salsa workshop beginning at 8:00 p.m. to 9:00p.m. We request that you come early to register as the classes. As a courtesy to the instructor and other members taking the class, if you are more than 10 minutes late, we kindly request that you do not interrupt the workshop as it will hold back those already participating in the class. Registration will begin at 6:45 p.m. Please come early to register!
In order to benefit from the intermediate class you should already know the following moves:
* Basic salsa step
* Cross body lead
* Inside outside turns
* Enchufla
* Side breaks/side to side
* Cumbia step
Please indicate in the RSVP section if you will be taking Wanda's intermediate workshop so we can plan accordingly. The beginner's class is included in your cover charge, The 1 hour intermediate workshop will be $10.00 per person.
At 9:00 p.m. the floor opens up for dancing with music by Rigo Rigo!
You must be 21 to attend this event. This is a non-smoking event with a strict dress code. Absolutely no sneakers, no sunglasses, no hats, no flip flops and no work boots.
*There is a $3 cover charge for members who RSVP for the event and $5 for non-members and those members who do not RSVP on the Meetup site.
