Description / Comments

Every Sunday in August begining at 8:30 PM, the Astronomical Society of Harrisburg will hold a Public Observing session at Naylor Observatory.

Almost everyone has seen the moon, but how many of you have seen the four brightest moons of Jupiter?  Now is the best time this year to view Jupiter's moons and cloud belts along with galaxies, nebulae, star clusters, and other celestial wonders through several of our large telescopes.

Members of the Astronomical Society of Harrisburg will be available to answer your questions about the exciting and enjoyable hobby of Astronomy.

Public Observing can only be held if the skies are clear. If the weather is questionable, please call the observatory at 717-938-6041 an hour before the session to make sure we will be open.  We are a nonprofit organization and appreciate a $3-$4 donation per person from those attending a public observing session to cover the costs of keeping the observatory open to the public.
