The 6th Annual Harrisburg Senators Family Fun Run/Walk is scheduled to take place Saturday, August 9, 2008. The Harrisburg Run/Walk is one of three Run/Walk events that the Epilepsy Foundation Western/Central Pennsylvania hosts each year to raise money for individuals with epilepsy. Each year families, friends, and neighbors come together with professional baseball players, team mascots, and local radio and television personalities to lead the day’s festivities.
The event begins at 8:30 a.m. with the 5k Run, 2 mile Walk course that winds through City Island. Participants may then move on to a one-of-a-kind tailgate party, where they can enjoy food and beverages donated by local sponsors. Prizes are awarded to the teams and individuals that raise the most money. All participants are eligible for a free ticket to a baseball game, a commemorative T-shirt, and other fabulous items. All proceeds benefit the Epilepsy Foundation Western/Central Pennsylvania.
