Schoolhouse Rock Live! Jr.
Our second annual summer musical for our younger age range, 10 to 15. Tom, a school teacher nervous about his first day of teaching, tries to relax by watching TV. Suddenly, the Schoolhouse Rock bunch appear in his rec room and proceed to show him how to win his students over with imagination and music, through beloved Schoolhouse Rock songs that cover a variety of subjects: math, science, history, and grammar. Like the classic television series, Schoolhouse Rock Live! Junior is a hip, entertaining and educational treat that shows young people that learning can be as fun as you choose to make it.
Auditions— May 8, 9, 10 (callbacks), 2008
Audition Requirements
Please be prepared to:
- Sing 16 bars of a Broadway song or song you are familiar with (we will be lenient on song choice)
- Complete a brief dance and movement audition, taught by the show choreographer
- Read a monologue or scene from the show (provided by the Director)
- Be prepared to fill out a conflict sheet* at auditions (be as specific as possible about summer conflicts)

Show Description

Suddenly, the Schoolhouse Rock bunch appear in his rec room and proceed to show him how to win his students over with imagination and music, through beloved Schoolhouse Rock songs that cover a variety of subjects: math, science, history, and grammar. Like the classic television series, Schoolhouse Rock Live! Junior is a hip, entertaining and educational treat that shows young people that learning can be as fun as you choose to make it.

Rehearsals
Rehearsals will be Monday and Thursday nights from 6:30 to 8:30 PM and Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Rehearsals will begin on Saturday, May 17, 2008. Tech week will be from Sunday, July 13 through Wednesday, July 16. No excuses will be accepted during this week. Performances will be the evenings of Thursday, July 17, Friday, July 18, and Saturday, July 19. Please make sure you can fully commit to the rehearsal and performance schedules before auditioning. We understand summer is a busy time, but you must be willing to make this show a priority.
Actors Needed
All actors ages 10 to 15 may audition (you must be 10 by the date of the first performance). Experienced or first time performers who enjoy acting, singing, and dancing are invited to audition. Many roles are available to suit the talents of all of our performers.
