The Capital Area Greenbelt Association and Capital BlueCross* will host a 20 mile guided bicycle ride on the Greenbelt to celebrate National Trails Day on Sunday, June 8th, 2008 (rain or shine). The Tour de Belt will be launched at 9:45 a.m. for pre-registered riders and 10:00a.m. for day of the event registrants at the former State Hospital Grounds at the Sycamore Street Pavilion off of Elmerton Avenue. Registration and bike inspections will begin at 9:00 a.m. The event, for families and bike enthusiasts, generates community interest and raises funds for restoration and maintenance of the Greenbelt. Registration is $15 per person in advance and $25 after May 23rd. Children 12 and under may register for $7 at any time. Fundraising prizes will be awarded to the top three individual riders and one team collecting the most pledges. Free t-shirts for every rider.
