Community WALK Marks 6th Year
Organizers of the Seven Sorrows Parish Community WALK are eager to break the $100,000 mark. Now in its sixth year, the WALK has already raised $95,000 toward the building of a new Parish Ministry and Education Center.
The WALK consists of a three-mile loop through Middletown, beginning and ending on the parish grounds. Walkers participate mainly as teams gathering contributions and competing for a variety of prizes. The WALK begins promptly at 1:00 p.m., rain or shine, and is followed by refreshments and prizes in the school cafeteria.
Prizes will be awarded to teams and individuals, both adults and children, raising the most money. Special recognition will be given to those raising more than $250.00 or $500.00 in pledges. Many other prizes, including door prizes, will be handed out as well.
The WALK will take place Sunday, April 13, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. A registration rally will be held at the parish Saturday, April 5 and Sunday, April 6 before and after all Masses. Late registration will take place 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on April 13. Individual registration forms are available at the Parish Office, 280 N. Race St., Middletown.
