THE HARRISBURG SINGERS ANNOUNCE SPRING CONCERT SERIES
Choral group offers inspiring repertoire for audiences of Central PA
HARRISBURG - The Harrisburg Singers is pleased to announce its Spring 2008 concert series: Celebrate! Music of Praise & Joy.
Plan to join The Harrisburg Singers and The Keystone Brass Quintet for a concert featuring music of praise and joy ranging from Handel’s Coronation Anthems to “A Prayer of the Middle Ages,” by Howard Hanson, to Bob Chilcott’s “Jubilate,” to “Let There Be Praise,” recorded by Sandi Patti. The program will also include arrangements of familiar hymns and spirituals, such as “Be Thou My Vision,” “Abide with Me,” and “Ain’t-a That Good News!” interwoven between uplifting renditions of anthems for brass, organ, piano and choir.
The Harrisburg Singers were founded in 1984 and have become one of Central Pennsylvania’s finest choral ensembles. Under the artistic direction of Susan Solomon Beckley, the Singers artfully and beautifully combine the voices and talents of 40 auditioned members from the Central Pennsylvania region. The group takes special pride in its ability to perform works from many different traditions sensitively and with the highest level of musicianship.

Mechanicsburg Presbyterian Church, 300 East Simpson Street, Mechanicsburg, PA
Tickets may be purchased in advance for $18.00 or at the door for $20.00. Students can purchase tickets at a reduced price of $8.00 and groups of 10 or more can receive tickets for $15.00 a person.
Complementing the Harrisburg Singers regular concert series, the group has sung at the White House, Saint Matthew’s Cathedral, The National Cathedral in Washington, D.C., The U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD, and Christ Church in Alexandria, Virginia as well as for the dedication of the new WITF building located in Harrisburg this past April.
