Cold Winter

Have you seen the wooly worm?  Sure looks like a nasty, cold winter.  Many signs are pointing to a cold and snowy winter and that's my official winter forecast.  The most obvious sign is that all the "cold" benchmarks are hitting about 2-3 weeks early this year, first cool snap, first frost, etc.  So RJ Harris at our sister radio station WHP 580 suggested a contest for the 1st snowfall.  RJ guesses Nov 17, my wfie says Thanksgiving Day, I say Dec 2 and Dan Steele says Dec 7th.  These dates are not that far away!  Get ready for a rough winter...

Hi Tom,

We have a very large wooly worm that has taken up residence in our carport. We have our sled ready!!

I am still sticking with my original date of December 1st for the first snowfall of one inch or more. Shane did a blog a week or two ago talking about predictions. Maybe we could set up a poll in the forum section so we can keep track of our predictions in one location? Instead of steak and a forecast the winner could have cocoa and cookies at the winner's house. lol

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

Will swerving to miss a wooly worm crossing the road, count toward reducing the snow fall amounts? If not, I'll just plow (ha ha) ahead.
