About Steve Knight
A little bit about me...... I'm a Central Pennsylvania native and with the exception of a few brief stints living elsewhere, I have lived here all of my life. I grew up in Lancaster County, but I have lived on the West Shore for over a decade. I spent 9 years as a disc jockey here in Central Pa. I worked mostly for the old Starview 92.7. It was such a cool rock station, and to this day a lot of people still ask me about it and remember it fondly. I left 92.7 in January of 1997 and went to work for Traffax because it was a good opportunity, never did I know what it would lead to. While working at Traffax I became the first area traffic reporter to ever be shown live on television doing reports. I also become the Operations Manager for the Traffax network. After 4 years at Traffax I was able to bring all of the knowledge I had gained at Traffax over to WHP CBS 21. I'm coming up on my 5 year anniversary with WHP, and I hope to be here as long as they will have me. It's a great station with a fantastically talented and fun staff.
I'm a major sports junkie and a huge Phillies and Flyers fan. Fall is reserved for Penn State football and my true passion.... the Denver Broncos (My parents were born and raised in Colorado and I was raised by two Bronco fans living in Pennsylvania). Sunday afternoons are also spent glued to the TV watching Tony Stewart and the rest of the NASCAR circuit. I also follow the local racing scene and attend a lot of Bears and Senators games. Don't be surprised if my station blog looks like a sports blog sometimes!!
When I'm not at WHP "talkin' traffic" I'm at home with my family in New Cumberland. We have two boys that keep us busy with their activities, and I'm a volunteer coach for my son's teams in the New Cumberland Youth Baseball Association and the West Shore Soccer League.
