For their 50th wedding anniversary, Jerry rented a billboard (at N. 38th & Walnut Streets in Susquehanna Twp.) and put it "out there" for all the

re: Where Is The Love?

Shannon,

Thank you for doing an excellent segment on my parents 50th Wedding Anniversary.

Joe Pitman

re: Where Is The Love?

Hi Shannon,

First of all, I hope it isn't that you are PMSing! However, I agree with you about how we have lost the love! As one who performs wedding ceremonies, I hope that the couples I marry will be together for a long, long time. I think we make it so easy for people to say "I don't love you anymore and I want out!" So the Pitmans have shown us that love does exist, the hard part (I guess for both you and me) is finding that love! Good luck on the search.

Chris

re: Where Is The Love?

Shannon - I'm with you dear... I just think it is now harder to find the one and have it last happily ever after than ever before!

re: Where Is The Love?

Wow...50 years. That's a tough feat these days. It seems like many people take the easy way out when things don't work out in relationships. I know my parents are approaching the 37-year mark. Again, it's a rare thing.

Sure, people have their relationship problems but I think too many people have become caught up with life itself. There aren't many traditional family settings like there were in the 50s, 60s, or even 80s for that matter. Most families have both parents going to work and most jobs are no longer the normal Monday through Friday routine.

I think some people fail to see the true beauty and love that people can generously give them and overlook those qualities that make relationships like the Pitmans last as long if not longer.

To Shannon, I'm empathetic and wish I knew where to find that true, healtly, love that is so diffucult to find.

To the Pitmans, congratulations and may you be blessed with many more years of happiness together!
