The Phillies World Series Appearance Baseball will feature the official World Series and Phillies logo on one panel, and assorted team facts and historical dates of interest on another section of the ball. It will also recap the team’s post-season games and final scores so that fans will be able to look back years from now and remember how the Phillies got to the 2008 Fall Classic.
“This is a special time for Phillies fans as they try to win the second World Series in team history. Their run to the National League East regular season title, and exciting post-season series wins over the Milwaukee Brewers and Los Angeles Dodgers certainly makes this a season to remember,” said Nikco Sports CEO Craig Bidner. “With the challenging economic times, and with the holiday gift buying season just ahead, we wanted to provide fans with an historic piece of sports memorabilia at an affordable price, and at the same time continue to raise a significant amount of money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Philadelphia and Susquehanna Valley to help them in granting wishes to many youngsters who have some life-threatening medical conditions.
“We’re very proud of our relationship with the Make-A-Wish Foundation over the years, and we salute their great efforts. They’ve certainly made a huge difference and have helped make a lot of wishes come true.”
