Clair Wintermyer, the owner of the John Westbrook sprint car, asked me to pass along this note to all local race fans.
John Westbrook is still in the hospital, but his spirits are up. Greg Hodnett visited him and that put a smile on John's face.
John was seriously injured during a wreck at Williams Grove earlier this month. A benefit has been planned this weekend while the World of Outlaws are the Grove.
Here are some of the details from the Williams Grove message board:
It will be held on Saturday Sept 27th (Natty Open Weekend) from 12 noon- 5pm.
It will be located across from the back pit gate entrance in the camping area. Look for John's car and the big tent.
It will be only a $7.00 donation to eat.
The menu is pig, hot dogs and '***, baked beans, desserts.
Most importantly 100% of proceeds will be made to the John Westbrook recovery fund in care of Members 1st FCU.
