The other day I was driving home from work and ran into a major traffic backup on I-81. I got off the expressway, thinking I could find a different way home. Unfortunately, the subdivision I tried to cut through didn't go through to the road I was hoping to connect with.
There wasn't any traffic in the subdivision, so while I was stopped at a stop sign, I whipped out a map to check out my options. Before I had figured out my path, I heard "HONK". I waved my apology to the driver and kept going. Then, when I got to the next stop sign, I was waiting to make a left turn. The other driver pulled into the right lane and rolled down his window. My windows were already down, so I prepared to get a verbal lashing about bad driving. Instead, the driver asked where I was trying to get to. I told him and he said "Oh you don't want to go that way, there's a ton of traffic. Follow Me." So I did, and he drove to through some winding back streets until we got to a major road and I knew where I was going.
So, I'd like to say a Big Thank You to the man in the green mini-van!
