I've nevered blogged before so bear with me as I try to come up with something that may interest others...afterall, that is the point of blogging, right? To engage others and intiate some sort of community discussion? I guess the most worthwhile/interesting item of the day for me has been my interviews that aired in today's 21 News this Morning. I had the opportunity to speak with a Harrisburg City Police Officer and his family about his need for a new kidney. Officer Aarom Gold has struggled with kidney failure for a while and was the recipient of his wife's kidney a few years ago. Despite the amazing act of his wife Kristen, to donate a kidney, the transplant was unsuccessful and Officer Gold's body rejected the organ. Today, Gold and his family deal with the day to day struggles of his medical condition, and are waiting hopefully for a new donor. Anyone can donate a kidney and all costs involved will be covered by the Gold's health insurance company. You have to have blood type O Positive to be a match. If you don't know your blood type, you can find out quite easily and even your expenses for taking a trip to the doctor will be reimbursed. To find out more, visit Officer Gold's website at
