What's Up With Watson

"Here's your sign"

Bill Engvall would be proud of me today.... I have earned the "moron of the day" award.  Why?  I locked my keys in the car.   Still not a moron you say? What until I tell you where I keep the "spare."

This morning, after I parked my car in the lot at work, I opened my door and hit the lock button on my keychain.  The same routine I do every morning.  Only this time, I tossed the keys in my bag on the seat next to me, got out, and walked around to the passenger side  to pick up my bag.  As I rounded the corner, it hit me.  I think the exact words were.."I can't believe I just did that."

The next logical step, of course, is to try and AVOID calling a locksmith.  Do I have a spare? Yes.  Where is it?  At home.  Can I get a ride there? Definately.  Do I remember where I put the spare? In the lockbox.  That's right.... the LOCKBOX.  Guess where the key to the lockbox is.... you know where I'm going with this.

When the key to unlock the spare is on your keychain "locked" in the car... it makes you rethink where you keep your spare.  Or should I rethink where I keep the key to the lockbox?

I will be doing both.  The AAA locksmith was quick and efficient.  I had my keys within a half an hour.  But I still wonder where the "safest" place is to keep your spare. I'd love to hear some ideas, however, the funny part is, for your protection and mine, that information has to remain a secret.

So my extra keys will find a new home.  Somewhere "secret" that seems like a good idea...At least until that tricky lock button pulls another fast one on me... then we'll see what a "good idea" the new hiding place is.

I had a similar situation Angela... boy can that be aggravating! Your spare has to be accessible, but safe. How do you accomplish both?
By the way, I'm surprised you know who Bill Engvall is... I only know the blue collar comedian because I lived in Texas for nearly 2 years!
